What is RV Genie?

RV Genie is a smart preset generator for Boss RV-500 that helps you quickly build musical
reverb/delay presets based on BPM, vibe, and role.

Is this official BOSS/Roland software?

No. RV Genie is an independent project by MEYDY FX and is not affiliated with,
endorsed by, or sponsored by Roland/BOSS.

Is RV Genie free?

Yes, currently it is provided as a free beta.

Can I test without connecting my pedal?

Yes. Use the web simulator:

It is simulation-only and does not write to hardware.

Does the web simulator write to my RV-500?

No. It only demonstrates preset generation and preview behavior.

Why do I see SIMUL-related warnings?

Because this beta currently supports live write only in SIMUL-compatible workflow.
If your pedal is not in the correct SIMUL setup, do not use Live Write.

Is macOS fully supported?

Not yet at the same level as Windows.
macOS builds are available, but live pedal write is currently considered
Beta/Experimental until broader hardware validation is completed.

Should I update RV-500 firmware first?

Yes, recommended.
RV Genie may work on older firmware, but best practice is to use the latest official firmware
for stability and compatibility.

What should I do before first Live Write?

Back up your presets/settings.
Confirm SIMUL-compatible setup on the pedal.
Test with a non-critical bank first.

I do not see my RV-500 connection. What should I check?

USB cable and power
RV-500 is recognized by your operating system
Reconnect USB and relaunch the app
Retry connection from inside RV Genie

Can I redistribute or sell RV Genie?

Commercial distribution is not allowed without prior permission from MEYDY FX.
